Burston - Headteacher's Update

Posted on 31st Aug 2020

Dear families,

I hope you have all had a safe and happy summer break, in what has obviously been unusual and uncertain times. The staff and I are very much looking forward to welcoming back the children for the start of the new academic year on Monday 7th September.

Whilst I know that it was not possible for all of the children to come back for a period of time before the summer holidays, the staff and I very much felt encouraged by the way the children who did return settled back into learning and slightly different routines. We are confident also that for those children who have not been in school since March, they will soon feel secure in school and enthusiastic about their learning. The staff have been very busy preparing for the new school year and creating opportunities for the children to flourish and thrive both academically and socially. We all believe in the community of our school and I know that everyone will pull together to make it a happy and nurturing place.

There will be another letter before the children return to school on Monday with an overview of the systems and protocols that we have put in place to ensure that it is as safe and secure as possible. We want to make sure that the information that we send out to you is as up-to-date as it can be. However, if you have any questions in the meantime then do please let me know.

Very best wishes

Mark Carlyle
